Have you thought about going to bandcamp.com fire? You can create your own genres.

They had a couple huge explosions of this sort, and I'm pretty sure loansindi was there to try to put a can on it every time. Funny how he works.

I agree with you that there definitely should be more detailed genres. Like you said, people get so much grief because elitists decide that something deserves a 0 because it's not Heavy Metal, or it's not Hip-Hop. But hey, more that half of NG traffic is 15 and under (not really, I actually have no idea) so most people are going to click the burn-in-a-fire button and not care.

NG's just been doing things that way for so long, and people like Mich and loansindi have been against change for so long that it'd be too much effort to change their minds and get something done about it.

Kudos for standing up, though.

I very much agree with you but I have kinda lost all hope. The NG Audio Portal will never be a good place for more serious musicians. It's just a playground, like the rest on Newgrounds. Nothing more. No, I suggest putting your energy on other sites instead.

At this point, it seems like all they're interested in doing is grouping together to shut you up. They're not even attempting to help. The thread they linked you to has a guideline right in the first post asking you not to repeat suggestions. Any suggestion they get from that thread's going to be lost.

Luckily, there are going to be more of these threads that come up to drive the regulars insane. They bring up good points, but they're twisting the BBS rules way too far.

Sorry fire, I just didn't see the point in fighting what looked like a lost cause. They're just going to shut us down. Though if we could petition or get upwards of 1,000 folks interested in more genres, that might make a difference. But in a thread on the BBS...

I'm not a fighter
